Desarrollo de la batería neuropsicológica Santanderun instrumento para valorar el rendimiento cognitivo en esquizofrenia

Abstract

Cognitive deficits are a core trait in schizophrenia; in fact, cognitive impairment has been proposed as one of the diagnostic criteria of the illness. There are a great number of tests to assess the cognitive functioning of patients with schizophrenia; however, few of these tests have an adaptation and validation into Spanish. By this reason, in this thesis we have chosen to develop an informatized assessment test with Spanish population, named Batería Neuropsicológica Santander. Test-retest reliability and concept validity have been assessed for each one of the tests designed, and also their relation with clinical and sociodemographic variables, in a sample of 100 patients. Overall, the data obtained indicate that the Bateria Neuropsicológica Santander have good psychometric properties, although some tests have a ceiling-effect. In future studies, it would be interesting to increase the sample and modify some tests.
