Résumé

The oral hygiene brings benefits to general health and to the perception of own health of the people. As a result, a good oral health allows you to build a better quality of life. Some studies have found that some consequences of poor oral health, such as tooth loss and gum pains are associated with low self-esteem, decreased ability to eat, decreased appetite or decreased social interactions for fear of the stigma of not having all teeth. This proposal aims to develop a protocol about from research carried out at a nursing home in the province of Biscay, Spain, whose main objectives were to identify the care of oral hygiene that takes a sample of institutionalized elderly and identify self-perceived problems of oral health of residents
