Compresión del nervio cubital en el codoparálisis tardía

Resumen

In the present study 12 patiens with ulnar nerve compresion at the elbow, one of late paralysis, treated during the period 1977-1981 are reviewed. The Anatomy, ·Pathophysiology and mechanical factors of the elbow joint was reviewed; the ulnar nerve is in a vulnerable position as it passes the elbow joint behind ulnar epicondyle of the humerus and lies in the cubital tunnel. The valgus is nor the principal factor, the more important are stenosis of the tunnel and aponeurosis bridging the two heads of the flexor carpi ulnaris and the vascular troubles of the nerve beside its intrinsec alterations. All the patiens with subjetives synptoms and motor and sensory signs the diagnosis and localization of the compresion was posible on a clinical basis in all cases; in 5 the etiology was postraumatica and 7 in it was not. On the treatment the indications were conservative or surgical: nerve descompresion, transposicion of ulnar nerve to the front of medial epicondyle·, Epicodylectomia. All the patiens were revieu at Residencia Sanitaria. The follow-up period ranged fron 6 months to 4 years.
