Zusammenfassung
Objective: To describe the clinical features, management and prognosis of the patients diagnosed with TINU syndrome managed at Cruces University Hospital. Method: Retrospective and single-center study of patients diagnosed with TINU Syndrome between the years 2008 and 2019. The variables were classified into general, ophthalmological and renal features. Results: The final sample consisted of 7 patients, 5 women and 2 men, with a mean age at diagnosis of 32 years and who met the criteria of definitive or probable TINU. In all cases, ocular inflammation was bilateral and anterior, with vitritis in 2 of them. The number of outbreaks was variable, but all required systemic immunomodulatory treatment. After a mean follow-up of 35,05 months, renal function normalized and visual acuity reached unity in practically all cases. One of the patients had cataracts in both eyes which were attributed to the prolonged use of topical corticosteroids. Conclusions: In our case reports of TINU syndrome cases, all patients presented chronic and recurrent bilateral anterior uveitis that required immunosuppression; the visual outcome has been excellent and renal function normalized in all cases.
