Résumé

Scombroid fish poisoning is a foodborne toxic syndrome caused by eating contaminated fish of the Scombroid family. It is caused by the formation of bacterial products when conservation of the fish is not adequate. We report seven cases diagnosed in our Department, in two separate family outbreaks, and review pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis and therapy of this syndrome. Sanitary control of food makes scombroid fish poisoning rare in our country; however, clinical characteristics in an adequate epidemiological environment, allow a quick clinical suspicion, that triggers the response of sanitary authorities.
