Abstract
50 years have elapsed since the start back in 1968 of the Donostia-San Sebastian Conference on Medical Cinema, which brought the latest productions on medical themes to our city over a period of 22 years. Right from the start screenings of scientific shorts alternated with informative feature fi lms and public lectures on social and health subjects. This work explores what took place during the preparatory moments, the development of the fi rst conference and its consequences, before ending with an interview given in 1976 by Dr Munoa, Chairman of the Conference, in which he summarises the general features of the conference.
