The costs of feeding in an intensive system of sheep or goat production, in our Spanishgeography, can represent from 50 to 80% of the total expenses of the farm. A reductionof these costs implies looking for ingredients at a good price in the market, but this mustcome together with a precise knowledge of the nutrient needs of the animals. Knowing thenutritional needs of our breeds is key to being able to elaborate an adequate diet and toreduce costs. The information about our races is scarce and in this work we intend to compilethe existing knowledge, focusing exclusively on the energy and protein requirements.
