Abstract
Introduction: The PP patient is an increasing health problem in modern society. This study attempts to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of the PP-care program in the Bilbao-Basurto health area.Material and methods: Quasi-experimental study including 20 patients meeting de novo two or more Ollero criteria. We apply the program and compare what happens the year before and after inclusion.Results: There was a reduction in the number of total admissions (p, 009), an increase in the number of chronic hospital admissions (p, 012), and, without reaching statistical significance, a decrease in the number of admissions in acute hospital setting (P, 083).Conclussions: The program of PP is effective and depends to a great extent on the motivation of the professionals of the same.
