Abstract
As the traditional methods of clinical exploration are losing predicament; it is frequent to read, on the Internet, in the preparation for the MIR books and in our hospitals environment about the Ellis – Damoiseau´ line, intermingling the semiological, clinical and radiographic criteria on the pleural effusion, which are not synonymous though they coexist.
