Abstract

Resistant Arterial Hypertension affects to 3 - 29% of the hypertensive patients, dependingof the used definition. In this revision we analyzed the ethiopathogenic factors of resistanthypertension, the most useful diagnostic measures and the modifications of theantihypertensive therapy. We describe and analyze the lack of compliance to themedication or the diet, the volume overload, the errors of the measurement of the BP, aswell as the indications of 24 hr ambulatory registry, or the studies of secondaryhypertension, to conclude in a few summarized strategic recommendations.
