Resumen
We describe the case of a male patient who arrives at the emergency room suffering from abdominal pain and distension. Complementary tests are performed (blood test, abdominal radiography, CT scan) and as a conclusion the patient is diagnosed with ileitis and small bowel obstruction. Two days later, a detailed anamnesis is performed again, and the patient describes eating anchovies omelette 48 hours before he was admitted to the hospital, as well as raw anchovies 24 hours before. Based on his medical record, anisakis specific antibodies- IgE are detected with a result higher than normal range. The patient is treated with conservative measures with a very good outcome; therefore, he is discharged from hospital.
