Abstract

Nail injuries management is often unknown and underestimated at the emergency departments (A&E). These lesions are usually underestimated, due to their banality and to the lack of knowledge of the nail anatomy. However, these “minor” injuries can be a source of functional impairment and aesthetic sequelae. In this paper we review the anatomy, pathophysiology, and the treatment of some of the most common nail lesions is described.
