Pressure ulcers and chronic wounds are two of the pathologies most treated by nursing staff in primary, specialized and home care. The correct choice of dressing material is one of the key factors in dealing with these injuries. The objective of this article is to provide nursing professionals with a tool to choose the dressing material based on its most basic principle: the situation of the wound bed.To this end, the wound care protocols of the main Spanish health systems and scientific societies have been reviewed, and a diagram has been drawn up that categorizes the wound beds into 16 types based on the TIME classification and offers 13 combinations of dressings and cure products
