Abstract

Herniation of the lung is a rare outcome after several thoracic traumatism in the context of the motor vehicle crashes. Modern computed tomography (CT) shows the herniation in the emergency admission after the crash, but occasionally the presentation of a traumatic lung herniation can be delayed. We report a case of a lung herniation caused by severe blunt chest trauma. The patient was asymptomatic and the diagnosis was made four months after the chest trauma.
