Résumé
This study seeks to report the diversity of gene frequency spatial distribution patterns observed in Europe and their interpretation as evidence of population processes. Spatial variation in three VNTRs (D1S80, APOB 3´ and D17S5) was analyzed. There were found significantas gradients for 15 allele frequencies, predominating among them North-south clinal trends. These results support the hypothesis of a major late Paleolithic population expansion from Southwestern to Northeastern Europe.
