Résumé

Given that there is no standard form of treatment of psychosis, we believe it is essential to consider certain factors (premorbid adjustment, obstetric complications and cognitive dysfunction, as well as clinical sociodemographic and psychopathological parameters) as possible clinical predictors of treatment response. We carried aut an observational, multicenter, open, prospective study with a 2-year follow-up in 436 patients to evaluate acute response to early oral risperidone treatment. Factors predictive of a favorable response to risperidone treatment were pharmacologic treatment in the early phase of psychotic symptoms, acute onset of the illness, better premorbid adjustment and a better response in the WAIS information test.
