Résumé

The fight against smoking has included a number of strategies to reduce tobacco use. As long as a complete ban is decided, some alternative policies have been implemented to deter smoking, among them, information in packages on the risks tobacco poses to health, price increases and plain packaging to render smoking less attractive. This short review comments a paper by Halliday (2016) that examines the Ethics of a mandatory license for smoking that entitles the holder for purchasing tobacco products.
